Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF) partnered with UNDP to execute the timbuktoo Fintech Startup Accelerator Programme, a Pan-African initiative to empower technology-driven startups to address complex development challenges in Africa’s financial services sector.

Timbuktoo is Africa’s largest innovation ecosystem initiative, powered by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). It is designed to accelerate economic growth and innovation across the continent by supporting technology-driven startups in fintech, agritech, healthtech, greentech, and more.

The program aims to establish eight regional innovation hubs in key cities, including Lagos, Nairobi, Kigali, and Cape Town. These hubs will serve as platforms to grow 1,000+ startups, impact 100 million lives, and generate over $10 billion in value creation for Africa.

As a strategic partner in the Timbuktoo initiative, Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF) is collaborating with UNDP to launch and manage the Timbuktoo Fintech Hub in Lagos. This partnership focuses on fostering innovation within the financial technology space by:

    • Running year-round programs like boot camps, mentorships, and accelerator initiatives to support promising fintech startups.
    • Providing access to funding, mentorship, technical expertise, and a network of investors.
    • Driving solutions that promote financial inclusion and align with Africa’s sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Through this collaboration, AFF continues its mission to be a thought leader in Africa’s tech ecosystem by empowering entrepreneurs, driving innovation, and creating lasting economic impact.
